INFO:
The father of an Irish-Israeli girl who was kidnapped by Hamas in October last year says she is making good progress in her recovery, but deep psychological scars remain. Emily Hand was eight years old when she was abducted during a sleepover on 7 October. She was one of 250 hostages taken that day. Her father Tom initially thought she was dead, and said at the time that he felt relieved that she had died quickly. But after being held as a hostage in Gaza for 50 days, Emily was freed. Nearly one year on, Mr Hand says Emily has been receiving therapy to cope with the trauma of captivity and the loss of loved ones.
